Stolen Vehicle Report Leads To Drug Bust, Charges For 2 In Anne Arundel County: Police

A stolen vehicle investigation led to a foot chase and the discovery of a large quantity of drugs and weapons in Anne Arundel County, landing two residents with several charges, police said.

Officers responded to a stolen vehicle report just before 1:15 p.m. on Friday, April 5 and saw a stolen Infiniti parked in a driveway on the 8200 block of Highpoint Road in Orchard Beach.

Police then saw two people exit the vehicle and attempt to run. One suspect was arrested after a brief chase, while the other was found a short time later.

Officers obtained and carried out a search warrant for the home, which turned up the following:

  • A Raven Arms 25 auto-loaded with six rounds of ammunition
  • A Mossberg 500 shotgun loaded with seven rounds of ammunition 
  • Various rounds of ammunition
  • 26.5 grams of crack cocaine
  • 8.07 grams of cocaine
  • 69 Oxycodone pills
  • $770 in cash
  • Drug packaging materials

Ronald Lee Riley, 30, of Orchard Beach, and Robert Hardcastle, 20, of Glen Burnie, were arrested and charged.
